Ben is honored to have two photographs from his Black Lives Matter series exhibited in a fantastic pop-up art exhibition, called Truth to Power. The exhibit, presented by Rock The Vote in partnership with #Cut50 and other national and community partners, will take place in Philadelphia during the DNC Convention. Ben will be joined in the exhibit by many incredible artists, including Shepard Fairey, Banksy, and Hank Willis Thomas.
Truth to Power is described in this manner by the organizers:
To launch our Truth to Power campaign to engage and mobilize young people in the 2016 election, Rock the Vote will host a large-scale pop-up art exhibition, cultural convening and community organizing event series in Philadelphia during the Democratic National Convention.
Presented by Rock The Vote in partnership with #Cut50 and other national and community partners, The Truth to Power exhibition and event space is designed to elevate and illuminate the most pressing issues facing young people in the United States today — from ending mass incarceration and stopping police violence to providing access to jobs and a living wage, building a fair immigration system to protecting reproductive freedom, making higher education affordable and defending our right to vote. Together, we will lift our voices, identify solutions, assert our power and work together to claim our future — a world where we can all live with dignity, freedom and hope.
The exhibition will bring together some of our nation’s most prolific and talented visual artists, young activists, musicians, poets, policymakers and community leaders and feature hundreds of inspiring works of art and over 25 hours of programming. We encourage you to come visit us in person or follow the live streams on our social media accounts.
